This session will explore the new half credit Personal Finance course standard, Managing Credit. There will be a deep dive into key indicators including types and sources of credit/debt, cost and benefits of using credit, components of a credit score, consumer rights and responsibilities, identifying high risk strategies for repayment and avoiding financial pitfalls, loan applications, amortization schedules, and calculating payments. Potential lesson plans will be demonstrated as well as best practices and lots of no cost resources. This session is geared to those on the Personal Finance Track, but open to anyone to attend.
