Have you ever wondered how we keep the lights on or who responds to your power outage? Well, we know the answer and created a program to fill this need. Follow Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center, located in York, SC, and York Technical College's journey of creating the first in South Carolina Utility Line Worker program for high school students. The ULW program contains all of the elements that make CTE programs special: dual enrollment with the local technical college, corporate backing, meeting the local industry needs, industry certifications, and a seamless transition to career and/or college. From the needs assessment process to program inception to student placement after graduation, you will be apart of the journey as we attempt to keep America powered.
