153. Personal Finance Track: Understanding Insurance and Risk

This session will explore the new half-credit Personal Finance course standard, Understanding Insurance and Risk. There will be a deep dive into key indicators: the principles of insurance and fundamental insurance terminology, risk management methods, factors affecting insurance premiums, auto, health, and life insurance, and other insurance products such as renters' and long-term disability. Potential lesson plans will be demonstrated as well as best practices and lots of no-cost resources. This session is geared toward those on the Personal Finance Track but is open to anyone to attend.
