A vital component of the Developing Instructional Readiness for Educators of Career and Technical (DIRECT) Education teacher training for work-based alternative teacher certification rests in the education and training of our Instructors and Mentors. CTE mentors provide crucial guidance and support in helping new CTE teachers succeed. DIRECT is a comprehensive support system for beginning CTE teachers as they navigate their first years in the classroom. This session teaches DIRECT mentors how to best document and verify mentoring interactions with beginning CTE teachers in TEAMS using an established professional learning community. However, anyone who desires to become or would like to recommend a CTE mentor can benefit from the session.
