This second session provides a brief overview of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and offers easy to implement classroom strategies with a focus on social emotional learning and best practices for students with special disabilities. We will discuss what you can do as educators to reduce the effect of childhood adversity and improve the academic outcomes for your career and technology education students. Participants will build upon base knowledge on Adverse Childhood Experiences; identify strategies to address instructional and behavioral challenges; and discuss ways to better support students with disabilities within the CTE setting.
