Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can negatively impact student abilities to perform well within social, academic, and work-based settings. This first session provides foundational information on ACEs and what it means to you as educators. We will discuss ways to recognize possible trauma related behaviors and identify protective factors that can be incorporated in the CTE environment. Participants will acquire base knowledge on Adverse Childhood Experiences; discuss ways to counter the impact of ACE among children; and identify ways to better support students who have experienced trauma.
