On September 19, 2022, the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association launched SCATD - the SC Auto Tech Development program. In partnership with Apprenticeship Carolinas and our Dealership members, we are working to bridge the gap between Auto Tech students and their future career as an Automotive Technician. SCATD is a 3-prong program, offering Scholarships, Tools-for-Techs, and Dealership Job Placement. We believe that our program is a solid resource for students who are eager and career-minded with a strong desire to join the automotive work force. Students can receive a complete tool set and tool box worth almost $10,000 at no cost along with a paid apprenticeship in one of our 273 SC Dealerships across SC. We've also awarded 68 Scholarships, totaling $173,000 since 2014. We invite instructors, counselors, career specialists and educators to attend who feel this may be a good fit for their school.
