Students are faced with making choices around their overall wellness every day. With EVERFI’s digital health and wellness curriculum, kids are taught that the choices they make and habits they form now become the foundation for the lives they lead as adults. This session will highlight EVERFI’s FREE digital wellness resources surrounding topics like: mental health awareness, vaping prevention, prescription drug safety, alcohol education, digital wellness and safety, and healthcare literacy. These lessons are available to all South Carolina educators at no cost. Attendees will walk away with immediate access to EVERFI’s platform, directions on how to explore the digital lesson catalog, and implementation ideas to get students started. 118. The Pathway to Health Careers With South Carolina AHEC
The South Carolina AHEC Health Careers Program supports diverse groups of high school and early college students on their paths to becoming healthcare professionals and building a future healthcare workforce that will reflect the diverse range of communities it serves in South Carolina. The program introduces students to health careers, supports their preparation for health professions education programs, and develops skills that help them succeed on their path to a health career. To support the day-to-day activities of the Health Careers Programs, students are involved in regional health careers academies, community service projects, live webinars, and summer enrichment opportunities. South Carolina AHEC created free, self-paced, online modules open to students in the state interested in careers in healthcare. The modules are designed to help students expand their knowledge and develop skills that will help them on their career path.
