Education and Business Summit 2023

Ms. Depew, Education Associate for the Business, Finance, and Marketing clusters will present information regarding changes to the Business, Finance, and Marketing courses, programs, and certifications and related high-quality program indicators of high interest. Knowledge is power; be in the know for initiatives and updates in the Business, Finance, and Marketing clusters and programs.

This session will explore the new half credit Personal Finance course standard, Building Financial Security. There will be a deep dive into key indicators including defining basic investment concepts, the relationship between risk management and rate of return, funding requirements at different stages of life, Social Security benefits, types of long-term retirement investments, estate planning, developing an investment portfolio, and the role of insurance in long term financial planning. Potential lesson plans will be demonstrated as well as best practices and lots of no cost resources. This session is geared to those on the Personal Finance Track, but open to anyone to attend.
