10. FIRST®: Building the Next Generation of Talent Through Robotics
FIRST® offers a progression of exciting, team-based robotics programs allowing kids to develop hands-on skills using increasingly complex STEM concepts from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. These programs prepare students by developing technical and non-technical skill sets that align with the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the 21st century workplace. Through partnership and integration of the programs into classrooms, the impact of FIRST® programs is building the next generation of talent for SC industry partners.

136. What Educators Need to Know About Digital Accessibility in the Classroom
Now that we are all digital learners the issues that your students and parent/guardians who use assistive technology devices encounter in attempting to access basic information on your class or school website is even more critical. It could be reading announcements that have not been properly formatted to accommodate the Zoom feature or bad use of font/color that make it difficult for those who are colorblind. This session will define digital accessibility and help teachers learn what to do to make their online content accessible. Ms. Leach taught Special Education in public and private schools for eight years and helped implement Universal Design for Learning at the college level. Her professional knowledge of design principles for digital accessibility makes her an excellent resource for teachers trying to improve their delivery of online content.
