Dana Aucoin is a FIRST Senior Specialist, Professional Development developing and delivering FIRST Professional Development for FIRST LEGO League Discover, Explore, and Challenge and FIRST Tech Challenge. Dana works with 24 FIRST Certified Trainers who she trained over the last three years to deliver professional development both remotely and in-person.  Dana’s primary goal is to support teachers in facilitating the FIRST programs to students across all grades, both during school and after school.  Dana was an elementary classroom teacher for 22 years, a robotics instructor for STEM camps and after school non-profit organizations for 10 years, and coach for elementary and middle school grade levels throughout that time. Prior to joining the FIRST staff full time, Dana served as committee chairperson for FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Senior Mentor for the state of Maryland. Dana enjoys spending her free time with her three granddaughters and cooking for family and friends.
