Siemens Digital Industries Software
Director of STEM Programs
Tampa, FL
I am the Director of STEM Programs at Siemens and work to empower STEM educators and increase access to educational resources globally. I have more than 18 years of experience in education. My passion is for hands-on, minds-on teaching and learning and has been an aspect of phases of my career as an engineer, an educator, and a school and district CTE administrator. In my role with Siemens, I am excited to create innovative educational pathways that strengthen STEM teaching practices, build 21st Century skills for students and prepare a STEM workforce for the future.

I am currently a doctoral candidate in Education Leadership, focusing on equitable access to STEM education, from National Louis University.

Before entering the field of education, I was a STEM professional in the electrical engineering field. I transitioned to teaching in 2005 with Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, Florida. I spent 12 years as a middle school engineering teacher within a STEM career academy. I was a magnet lead teacher at a nationally recognized STEM-focused High school in the district. I oversaw the accreditation awards for Magnet school of excellence and special STEM designation. I was appointed as a district supervisor and was an administrator within the career and technical education department, covering the Industrial and Technology Education programs for the nation's 7th largest school district.

I then transitioned my knowledge and skillset in public education to the nonprofit FIRST, where I led the education and workforce development initiatives. As Director of Education, I oversaw the creation of curriculum, professional development, and school support activities which grew FIRST in formal learning environments during the school day.
